Supporting Community Media and Technology
Building the capacity of nonprofit organizations that use media and technology to strengthen communities.
The Digital Arts Service Corps supports a diverse network of partner organizations that benefit communities nationwide. While any organization using media and technology is a potential partner, we seek out low-power radio stations, media arts and technology centers, rural broadband initiatives, media reform policy advocates and anyone building a strong and diverse public media infrastructure.
The Digital Arts Service Corps builds the strength and community impact of these organizations by supporting specific capacity-building projects through the recruitment and placement of a full-time, on-site AmeriCorps*VISTA member. In addition to an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, organizations are connected to our national network of organizations and experts, linked to best practices and informed opinions, and provided the support needed to ensure their capacity building project is a success.
Digital Arts Service Corps members work to build the capacity of the individual organizations where they serve and collaborate with other VISTAs on the development of resources, trainings, and related projects. Through their work the Project endeavors to build a network that facilitates collaboration, support, and the sharing of ideas among a diverse group of participating organizations.

The Digital Art Corps is an initiative of the Transmission Project, a grantee of the Massachusetts state office of the Corporation for National and Community Service, is located at the College of Public and Community Service at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
