Hi, I am Dave. I'm here to develop a comprehensive community media plan for WSLR 96.5 LPFM. It would include research on microwave transmitter links, an indie media center and broadband expansion to low income areas. I will also be helping them implement a plan for moving into their new facilities this fall.

I am one of the VISTA Leaders for the Digital Arts Service Corps. I serve all the VISTA members on the Western part of the country. Along with Billy, I will dedicate myself to motivate, engage and connect VISTA members throughout their service year. I am continuing to serve as a VISTA at Quote...Unquote -- Albuquerque's community media center & public access TV station, as their Community Outreach & Development Coordinator.

I'm working with seven community media centers in the Northern California region to extend opportunities to collaboratively share best practices and resources that benefit each center and create a collaborative model for the entire community media industry.

I work with nonprofit groups all over the West Coast who are pursuing new community radio stations. Common Frequency helps navigate all the steps to getting new local radio stations onto the airwaves.

I am working to start relationships between Squeaky Wheel and various community groups and to foster these relationships by organizing customized workshops, screenings, and presentations in order increase the Buffalo community's awareness of the media tools and training they have access to here.

The main initiative of the Transmission Project, embodied in the Digital Arts Service Corps, is to pair AmeriCorps*VISTA (don't forget the *!) members with media and technology organizations in support of year-long capacity-building projects. I evaluate the relationships between the Transmission Project, its Corps members, and its partner organizations. To this end, I delve into the Project's past in order to build on our 10 year history of capacity building. With an eye to the future, I also conduct research on trends in the public media field.

I serve as the Outreach Coordinator for Brookline Access Television. As part of their mission to become a community media, education, and technology center, I'll be meeting with organizations in the community to build new partnerships and programs. To support those programs I will also recruit and coordinate volunteers.

My job with UFM Community Learning Center will be Development Specialist for their new (not yet on-air) community radio station, KONZ FM. I will be working first to raise money in order to get the station up and running by planning fundraising events and also seeking out large personal and corporate gifts. After the station goes on air I will continue fundraising and also help to train new volunteers for the station.

We are trying to create community pride as well as share information about various areas of it people may not know about. We are doing this by filming tours around Philly lead by the individuals who live there. I am to produce a website that shares the videos from the tours to a larger audience that may not be able to obtain them otherwise.
